I'll reply here (unless requested otherwise) so it's easier to track a conversation as it's on one page. Please remember to sign your posts with 4 tildes (~~~~). It would also be helpful if you leave a new message (regarding a new subject) under a new header at the bottom of the page so that I can find it and respond to it promptly.

RE: RE: Licensing Images

Is it just me or does it sometimes play up too. Like, it won't work, sometimes, but the invalid image licensing probably was because it wouldn't work correctly, and again, I am so sorry. :( -- DevlyHallows ~ (Inform me here) 17:48, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

AFAIK, Wikia have had a bug for a year or so that has messed up licensing. It appears to come and go. I remember a time where a lot of users were getting the standard "license your images" message because of this so yeah it can mess things up on the administrative perspective. :/ Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 18:40, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Admin projects

Hello, firstly once again I'd just like to thank you for nominating me for administrator :)

Secondly I wanted to ask about admin projects, and it seemed like you were the one to ask as you are deemed the manager of them. I wanted to ask what you have to do in it, and if you think (because you were my nominator) that there were any that suited me best.

Sorry if this sounds weird, I have seen users be stripped of their admin status because they hadn't chosen a project, and I don't want that happening to me! :D ~ Waikikamukow (Anyone wanna chat?) 06:21, March 14, 2013 (UTC)

It's cool! :)
As for the APs, they're honestly pretty dead down to numerous reasons but to keep things short: some projects had little to do anyway, interaction within projects had dropped and patrolling the activity of these projects had also died as a result. I've tried either killing the system completely or thinking of a spiritual successor but nothing has come to avail and as it is, new admins are just being added to projects "for the sake of it".
I doubt anybody would care too much if you weren't added to a project based on their current status - those desysoppings from long ago were kind of activity-based too and I feel as long as one is active then what's to worry about. That said if you do have two things you would like to add yourself to then feel free to do so.
Hope this helps! Good luck with the tools and such. :) Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 22:22, March 14, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for your help! I'll just stay put for the time being. ~ Waikikamukow (Anyone wanna chat?) 10:35, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

i would like to appeal my ban

i didnt spam chat so why am i banned i suggest you unban me instantly —Preceding unsigned comment added by Timmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (talkcontribs)

I'm not the one who banned you and regardless, spamming "bye" to get attention is not okay. The ban will be upheld. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 23:51, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Hi!

I wondered how you customised the top part of your info bar, to show a different message for your userpage, to talkpage etc. And, the 'likes' thing, is cool. How did you do that?

Thanks in advance,

WayfinderOwl (talk) 00:28, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

I just used {{Title}} and added the custom parameter. For example, my talk page is using {{Title|You have arrived at the <s>abuse</s> talk section!}} to look how it is. As for the likes code, I'm using a personal template which you're welcome to steal. Mine just says {{User:Lost Labyrinth/Templates:Like|[[Special:MyPage|{{username}}]] and {{NUMBEROFACTIVEUSERS}} other users like this.}} to look as it is. Just plop those wherever, customise them to your heart's content and enjoy! :) Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 00:32, March 18, 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! :D I will use them. I saw them when around the time I joined the wiki, and always wanted to know how to add them.

Notice about the Warning template

Hello fellow administrator. I wanted to make you aware of an upcoming changeover regarding the {{Warning}} template. You can see the discussion of this change here.

Starting now, a new warning template will be available for use. This template is currently available at {{NewWarning}}. However, on April 2, the new warning template will be moved to {{Warning}} and the old warning template will be retired. Please use this transition period to test out the new template before the full changeover. In the period leading up to the changeover, please report any bugs or issues, and offer any suggestions, in the new template discussion

The new template does away with the <reason> parameter of the old template. You can now make your warning more specific by filling in the <type> parameter. Type will automatically load in text depending on the type and the level you select. Additionally, certain types have multiple 'levels', ranging from 1 to 3, with 1 being the least severe, and 3 being the most severe phrasing of the warning message itself. The types are:

  • Vandalism (entered as 'vandal#') warns against making non-constructive edits. The 'vandal1' message is the template's default message if no type is entered.
  • Blanking pages or sections (entered as 'blank#') warns against removing content from entire pages or sections of pages.
  • Removing content (entered as 'remove#') warns against removing useful and accurate content from pages.
  • Violating file policy (entered as 'file#') warns users that upload files or images in violation of the Image and File policy.
  • Disruptive behavior (entered as 'disrupt') warns users that attack other users, engage in edit warring, etc.
  • Sockpuppetry (entered as 'sock') warns users that are suspected of having control over multiple unauthorized accounts.
  • Additionally, there is a custom option available if none of the pre-existing types suit your needs. If you choose to use a custom message, the <type> parameter should be set to 'custom' and the optional <custom> parameter will hold your message. If <type> says anything other than 'custom' and the <custom> parameter is filled in, the custom message will not display.

So, to sum it up, the parameters are:

<type>: You should fill this parameter in, unless you're alright with displaying the default, non-specific warning text.
<custom>: Fill this in only if you've filled in 'custom' under the <type> parameter; otherwise, leave this blank.
<sig>: This parameter is mandatory - include your signature here.
<other>: If you want to include additional information to the recipient, you can fill in this parameter. The text you enter will appear below your signature but above the 'boilerplate' message at the bottom of the notification.

One last thing... remember to substitute the template, just as you do when you use {{Warning}}. This is to ensure that any future changes to the template don't alter how it appears on user talk pages.

If you've got any questions about this new warning or its implementations, feel free to drop me a message. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:10, March 19, 2013 (UTC)
