I saw your tweet on Twitter, as well as Wogan's response to it and your message on his talk page and I wanted to make sure this issue was resolved ASAP. The issue is that the word 'gay' was included in this wiki's Abuse Filter, which is an extension that blocks edits if they trigger certain flags, one of them being a use of profanity. Somehow the word 'gay' had ended up on the list of flagged words, but upon revelation of this issue I have gone into the Filter and have removed the word from it, as evidenced by the fact that I am able to use the word in this edit (the filter stops admin edits too).

I was unaware of this issue until you brought it up. Had I known about it sooner I would have removed it, because we've long since passed the point where that term could even reasonably be considered offensive (at least, in any civilized country, but I'm from the US, so maybe not :p). Additionally, as a gay man, I would have had issue with the wiki that I work on choosing to treat me and my orientation as 'profane'. Despite some heated discussions over on the Same-sex relationships vote, I do honestly believe that the majority of people here are very open and welcoming to everyone and would never be deliberately homophobic.

If you have any questions or concerns at all, please leave me a message. -- <font color="navy">LiR</font> <font color="green">speak</font> ~ <font color="green">read</font> 16:16, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
:Thanks man! So happy this has now been resolved! Hey, I'm also in the US. Stuck in lame Texas and also a gay man. Still, thanks for looking into this and providing a resolution. I, The Black Scorpion of SimPrograms am very happy now. :)--The Black Scorpion (talk) 16:34, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
