Video game

A group of Sims playing a video game on a console.

A video game is a game that Sims can play on various electronic devices, such as game consoles, computers, arcade machines, smartphones, and tablets. In The Sims 2 and later, there are a number of distinct video games available for Sims to play. Some of these games are not owned by the Sims by default and must be purchased from a store[TS2], or by leveling up in the video gaming skill[TS4]. In The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, a single copy of a video game will work on any device capable of playing video games; there is no distinction made between console games, computer games or mobile games. However, in The Sims 4, games are generally exclusive to either computers or consoles.

  1. Default.
  2. There is a bug where the option to play SSX 3 might not appear after purchasing a new game. This can easily be fixed by purchasing another game console or computer; the new game console or computer does not need to be kept after remedying the issue, so this can be done at no cost to the player.
