Video Gaming is a skill in The Sims 4. It is unlocked by playing games on a computer, Motion Gaming mat, tablet, or a mobile phone. It is primarily used to perform better in video games and in tournaments.

Description

Video Gaming allows Sims to perform better at video games, discuss strategies, enter tournaments, and more. Sims can build this skill simply by playing games; being focused will make it easier to develop this skill. Taking the Gamer branch of the Tech Guru career is the optimal career if focusing on this skill.

Traits that could be helpful for this skill are, as follows:

  • Genius: You can randomly get a +1 Focused moodlet.
  • Cheerful: You can randomly get a Happy moodlet, which contributes to being focused.
  • Geek: You get Happy moodlets from playing games, which contributes to being focused.

6 Enter Professional Game Tournaments, Play The R.E.F.U.G.E. More on Tournaments in the chart below. The R.E.F.U.G.E. is a reskinned version of The Sims Medieval.
7 Watch Gaming Livestream on the Computer, Gossip about Video Game Pros You can watch Gaming Livestreams since level 1, on the Slablet. They increase your Video Gaming skill faster than playing.

Tournaments

Novice Tournaments can be entered at level 3 of the skill, Pro Tournaments can be entered at level 6. Playing the same game repeatedly allows Sims to perform better at tournaments of the game in question, and thus have a higher chance of winning.

Trivia

  • Most of the games that Sims can play contain elements from The Sims series. For instance, "R.E.F.U.G.E." borrows gameplay elements from The Sims Medieval with RPG elements like a health/mana bar. "MySims Go!" is based on MySims, and "Sims Forever" is The Sims with a few expansion packs installed.
