In ''The Sims 4'', wedding cakes must be baked using an oven, much like [[birthday cake]]s. Once the cake is finished, a wedding topper must be added before it can be used for weddings. As long as there is a wedding topper on the cake, nobody can eat it until recently married Sims have cut the cake or the topper is removed.
Newlywed Sims have the option of cutting the cake, which will provide a [[happy]] moodlet. They will feed a piece to their new spouse, and then eat the rest of the slice. Other guests can then grab a slice for themselves.
A [[caterer]] hired for a wedding event will autonomously bake a white cake and add a wedding topper before they cook any other meals.
