Celebrity Status is a new feature in The Sims 3: Late Night. It is reminiscent of Fame in The Sims: Superstar.

A Sim's Celebrity Status is displayed by 1 to 5 stars. Sims must perform certain tasks and brag about themselves in order to gain a higher Celebrity Status[1]. The neighborhood already has celebrities and one way to launch sims way into stardom is to befriend other celebrities. Celebrity NPC's are distinguished by having a gold star over their heads[1].

Sims don't need to be in the new Film career to become famous. Any Sim can become a celebrity[2].

If a Paparazzi catches a Sim fighting another[2], skinny dipping in a pool or dancing on the bar they may be fired from their job or get the "Walk of Shame" moodlet[3]. Sims can however drag the Paparazzi to court.[2].

When sims get really famous they may receive free stuff from fans and businesses, such as free groceries[2], free drinks[1], free books at the bookstore[3], free treatments at the spa[3] and access to exclusive bars and clubs where other celebrities hang out[1]. Sims may also receive simoleans for showing up at parties and having their picture taken[4].

Ways to gain celebrity status

Sims at the top of their career will gain celebrity status faster[2].
