Charles Winterly is the teenage son of Adele, and the step-son of Peter Winterly. He was shipped with the downloadable world, Hidden Springs. His mother and step-father moved with him to Hidden Springs because Adele believed in the magic healing powers referred on the internet that could cure her son. He does not like being known as the sickly Winterly boy, nor does he enjoy his parents' constant worrying over his health, and he wants to prove they worry too much about him.
