The Sims 2: Open for Business

Cosmetology

A successful makeover

Cosmetology is a talent badge from Open for Business. With the Ug-No-More Makeover Station, a Sim can give makeovers to other Sims. A Sim's Cosmetology level determines how likely they are to give a successful makeover. Also, as a Sim's badge level increases, the animations will change to reflect the Sim's increasing skill. High cleaning skill helps in gaining cosmetology badge level.

Badges

No badge

High chance of messing up the makeover.

Bronze

Medium chance of messing up the makeover.

Silver

Low chance of messing up the makeover.

Gold

Very low chance of messing up the makeover.

Effects

Positive effect

A successful makeover opens the "Change Appearance" options screen. Here the player can change the appearance of the Sim who had the makeover. The customer will be pleased and, if it was not offered for free, pay for the makeover.

Negative effect

An unsuccessful makeover displeases the customer and their appearance is changed, usually by receiving a weird haircut or full face makeup. The Sim who did the makeover still gets paid, unless it was a free makeover.

For selectable Sims, this can be undone by using the Change Appearance option on a mirror. For others, it can be undone with the makeover chair. (It may be necessary to apply full face makeup in order to be able to use the option to remove all full face makeup.)

In the mood for a change? Unhappy with your look? Just plain ugly? The Ug-No-More Makeover Station will solve those nagging image problems lickity split, releasing a beautiful new you. You'll have head-turning hair and a visage no one can forget, just like all the magazines promised you. The Ug-No-More: ideal for that.... thing... on your face.
Game The Sims 2: Open for Business
Buyable Buy mode
Price §1,200
Size 2x2

The Ug-No-More Makeover Station is found in the Comfort -> Misc. section of Buy mode, though it cannot be used as a chair. If used on an unowned community lot, it will spawn an NPC stylist, and the player will be able to either have the selected Sim get a makeover, or direct that Sim to give a Sim on the lot a free makeover.

Trivia

  • Sometimes, the customer might receive a successful makeover even if the change appearance screen doesn't appear.
