Custom content (commonly shortened to CC) refers to objects, meshes, textures, Sims, neighbourhoods, etc. that are not created by Maxis. Custom content is not supported by Maxis, but is quite safe to play with unlike mods. Custom content should not be confused with mods, which modify the game instead of merely adding an object or two. Custom content should usually only be downloaded from well-known and trusted websites, such as ModTheSims.info and TheSimsResource.com.
