Nia Thompson (born August 24, 2000) is the main character of The Teens of Culpepper.

Early Life and Education

Petunia Thompson was born on August 24, 2000. Her parents were Grant Thompson, a businessman, and Harmony Samuels Thompson, a police officer. Her parents and her lived in a two bedroom apartment in Watersman, California since before Nia was born.

Nia first attended Watersman Elementary School through grades kindergarten through fifth grade, where she received very high grades and well known for being an avid reader and writer. In 2006, she met her best friend Lexi Reed, when they were both wearing the same Halloween costume. Lexi happened to live on the fourth floor of their apartments, right next to Nia. In 2010, she met Lizzie Hernandez and Mason/Macy Jenkins, whose families moved on the fourth floor in the Culpepper apartments. They all met up at school and formed their friend group, in which they would later dub, "The Teens of Culpepper." Nia disliked the popular kids at school, especially Jill Charlotte and Makayla Burgundy.

In grade eight, 2014, Nia briefly dated a boy named Ethan, who she had a lot in common with, however, he broke up with her when ninth grade started and began dating Nia's rival, Jill.

Nia attended Watersman High School from 2015 to 2019. Her freshman year, she met Gregory Brandt. He moved to Watersman and was a new student, who would end up joining the Teens of Culpepper friend group, even though he didn't live in the Culpepper Apartments. In early 2017, she entered a relationship with Brandt.
