• This episode is the fourth-one in a row to have no guest stars at all.
• This is the first episode not to be set in present day Earth.
• This episode begins with a recap to the events when Katarina was turned into a zombie ("Nemesis") and when the TARDIS crashed ("Siege"). This is the first episode to have a recap to a previous serial.

Continuity

• Katarina's fate in the crashed TARDIS that occurred in "Siege" is finally revealed.
• The Motorcycle that the Doctor stole in "Hostage" can be seen in the entertainment room.

Mistakes

• Katarina has found the time to change clothes since becoming a zombie. After the opening sequence, she reverts back to the original clothes she was wearing in Enigma of the Dead.
