- See also: Fishing spot
Fishing spawners are a variety of spawner in The Sims 3.
Fishing spawners
Fishing spawners result in hot spots when fishing, and provide specific fish that cannot be fished up from normal water.
When a fishing spot is placed on a water source, fish will jump out of it, and certain fish become available.
|
|
Best spots
The following are good places to find fishing spawners with the Fishing skill
This focus is on fish species available in the base game neighborhoods of The Sims 3, Sunset Valley and Riverview.
Sims can start fishing on most waterways in the neighborhood. Some residential lots may also feature ponds with fish spawners. At some fishing spots, you can see several fish are floating underwater or jumping above water when watched carefully in close up.
You can identify available fish variety and "hotness" of the spot on the water
with Inspect Water menu command.
Water spot has three levels of "hotness" for fishing.
- Hot spot - Hot fishing spot with many fish & very active "Jumping" fish. Good for fishing.
- After catching 5 ~ 6 fish in same hot spot (It takes about 2-3 hours of fishing), the hot spot may become a cool spot for a while.
- Cool spot - Cool spot has less fish than hot spot due to continued fishing.
- There are fish underwater but no "jumping" fish. It can still be fished for a better catch rate, but if another Hot Spot is nearby, switch to that. The spot will recover the next day.
- Ordinary water - Body of ordinary water out of the hot/cool fishing spots.
- The water has some fish, but not many. Usually low level fish only unless you use bait. Bad for fishing.
Stocking an "ordinary water" pond with fish
You can stock any pond of "ordinary water" with the fish of your choice (or perhaps only the basic low level fish listed when you click on the pond). To do so, you must have 10 of the same type of fish in your Sim's inventory. When you click on the water, you'll see an option to stock the pond.
