Fanon battles were closed due to the lack of participation, not because it was a bad idea. I mean, the most participants we ever had in one battle was eight. See this for a graph of participation in the fanon battles over the years.

Unless you have a better reason as to why we should revive the fanon battles, and unless there's reason to suggest it won't be a dud, I'm not supportive of resurrecting the fanon battles. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 01:17, September 29, 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not supportive of resurrecting them either, given the lack of participation from users. The participation from users was even poorer than the participation from users in the canon battles. So if the canon battles didn't get enough participation from users to keep going, then the fanon battles obviously didn't. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:18, September 29, 2017 (UTC)
