Playing packs seperately, help.[edit source]

165.228.24.20 (talk) 09:28, June 4, 2014 (UTC) So i have recently bought all the sims 3 expansion packs and i was wondering, is it possible to make it so i can play them seperate from each other or just have a selected few running? It is too confusing when they are all played together, and i feel i dont get the full experience from each pack then. 165.228.24.20 (talk) 09:28, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

You will always have to play any of The Sims games with the base game, whether or not you have expansion packs. The expansion packs cannot run without the base game.
I know in The Sims 2, there is the "AnyGameStarter" which allows you to boot up the game with any combination of expansion packs as long as you own them. That means that, if you have all the expansion packs installed, AnyGameStarter can force the game to only load a few, selected expansion packs, or even none at all. This is mainly for mod testing, as well as nostalgic appeal. Not sure about The Sims 3 though, sorry. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 10:44, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
Here's the link for AnyGameStarter external tool for The Sims 3. This tool lets you choose which expansion pack you want to run in your game. Keep in mind that if you're playing an existing saved file, the game will think you've uninstalled several expansion packs, and items in your game will be removed (like objects, skills, and careers). If you save your game and decide to use all the EPs again, those items won't be regained. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:49, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
