The Sims 4 has a lot of skills; new and returning. Sooner or later, the skill articles of The Sims 4 would be added to the wiki.

Currently, some skill articles are merged between games, like Logic and Charisma, but some are also separated on its own series, like Cooking (The Sims 3), Gardening (The Sims 3), and Fishing (The Sims 3). I think the reason we had this approach back then was because the skill was more elaborate in The Sims 3, and merging them into one article would make the page long? I have the same feeling about The Sims 4. The skill system could be as simple as in The Sims, but may also be as intricate as in The Sims 3. If, for example, the Painting skill is very elaborate and rich in details in The Sims 4, the Painting article would be very long and miss its details. "Painting" should cover what the activity is about, and if it covers 2 different extremes of details (one about TS3, the other about TS4), the article will... miss the point? I can't think of a good word to say this.

Well sure, length is not always a main concern of an article. A lot of articles are very lengthy as well. However, I'd like it that an article focuses on a skill of a particular series, instead of all of them mixed together. I feel it's more organized to separate skills by game. We can use the base page, like Gardening, as a summary of what the activity is about of each game, and the details would be separated by each game. Similar to the trait page.

So, what do you think? Should we separate skill articles by game, or we just keep the skills merged in one page until someone thinks it's a good idea to separate them? Nikel Talk Vote! 05:30, September 12, 2014 (UTC)

I like consistency; either all of the skills have articles based on their game appearance or none of them do. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 19:39, September 13, 2014 (UTC)

Not many people seem to be keen on the idea to standardize the skill articles, so I'm closing this thread and we'll just go with what we have now. I suppose it's not on everyone's top priority at the moment. Nonetheless, we can still organize the articles along the way. Nikel Talk Vote! 01:58, October 7, 2014 (UTC)
