Since Patch 71 of The Sims 4, I have noticed a couple issues. The biggest one is snapshot quality; before, when I took a snapshot in the game, it would save the image exactly how the scene looked in-game. But since the most recent patch, it saves the images very blurry, as if it was enlarged from a small snapshot.

This is really bad for me, because I love to take screenshots of a LOT of things in the game, even if it's not really worth capturing.

The second issue is that when I select a household in the updated Gallery, if I click the X, the window closes as it should, but the game acts as if the window were still open. This forces me to force close the game with Task Manager, which gets annoying.

Does anyone else have these issues? And does anyone know how to fix them, or should I just wait until Patch 72 to see if EAxis fixes them? Mariaw (talk) 23:39, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

I don't have The Sims 4 so my ability to help here is somewhat limited. For the screenshots issue, I would probably recommend using IrfanView to take screenshots instead. Simply download and install the program, open it, then press "C" to open the screenshot capture menu. You can set your settings in there, along with what hotkey needs to be pressed to take a screenshot, and whether to save the screenshot directly as a file, and then see if you're able to use it in-game (works for TS2 and TS3; it works as long as the hotkey you choose to use isn't intercepted by the game so IrfanView can see it. I know that IrfanView's screenshot tool doesn't work well with SC4 as the game apparently captures the keystrokes so other programs can't access them). IrfanView has always done a much better job than the in-game snapshot tools in TS1, TS2, and TS3, and the image quality is almost exactly how it appears on your screen. I recommend you get IrfanView from Ninite rather than CNET to avoid bloatware sneaking onto your system.
As for the issue with the Gallery, does it look a bit like this when it happens? That's an issue other players have experienced where the Gallery doesn't close. Hold your breath for EA to fix that one. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 00:47, August 16, 2018 (UTC)
Thank you so much for your reply. As for the gallery issue, yes, that is exactly what happens to me. Oh well, I can wait for EA to fix it, since I don't use the gallery that often.
As for the snapshot issue, I already have IrfanView installed, so that step was easy. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite save the screenshots quite how I would like (plus it only seemed to save one image when I used the hotkey more than once), but it's not a big deal, since I use Bandicam, which is capable of taking screenshots. I really only like using it to take snapshots with the UI (usually in CAS for references of Sims I created in the game that I plan on recreating in TS2 or TS3), but I can always just go into Cameraman mode and take snapshots with it. Thank you for your suggestions anyway! Mariaw (talk) 01:07, August 16, 2018 (UTC)
HUZZAH! They fixed both of the issues I was having. Though it is hard to be patient, it really pays off :) Mariaw (talk) 17:53, August 16, 2018 (UTC)
