Hi everyone! I have noticed that soms articles about games have US box art while others have European box art. While they have same images on it, they also contain region-specific ratings. Should they be replaced with box arts that do not contain any ratings? Like this one. Mate1234 (Chatterbox...) 21:25, April 12, 2014 (UTC)

I think that's a good idea, provided we can find official box art that's at a high enough resolution. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 22:44, April 12, 2014 (UTC)

I think that high resolution is not so neccessary. Box art should have enough high resolution to fit in infoboxes. Mate1234 (Chatterbox...) 06:54, April 13, 2014 (UTC)
Well, we can easily find box art from TS3 games that excludes the ratings from Origin's website . While they don't have the highest of resolutions, they should suffice for infoboxes. As for other games, either we can try doing a little bit of image-editing magic or somehow find somewhere versions without rating. DanPintalkcontribs 14:41, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
DanPin, I was thinking about that too. And I have a lot of Sims 2 games on my Origin account, so we can also do that for Sims 2 and Sims Stories (Life and Castaway Stories, but they will have PC/laptop friendly thing). Mate1234 (Chatterbox...) 17:46, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
I'd love it if we can have rating-free box arts. It's just difficult to find an image like that.
I disagree if you say resolution isn't necessary. The example you gave clearly have too small resolution. It won't fit in the infobox, and enlarging it will make the image appear blurry. On the other hand, high-resolution image can be resized without breaking the overall appearance. I'd rather have a good-quality cover with its rating than rating-free cover that's the size of a thumbnail. Basically, it doesn't need to be too large, but it shouldn't be too small either. Nikel, if it's not good resolution, why it fits perfectly in the infobox? And Origin examples even have higher resolution. Check The Sims 3 article and see. Mate1234 (Chatterbox...) 12:14, April 19, 2014 (UTC)
Well, okay... I overlooked that. I guess it's small but not that small. Some users usually upload duplicate covers but with way smaller resolution, even though a bigger and better version has already existed. I still favor resolution to rating-free, though. And Origin ones even have higher resolution than the example I previously gave. Mate1234 (Chatterbox...) 13:09, April 19, 2014 (UTC)
Personally, I don't really see why the rating being on the cover matters. It's just an image. I agree with Nikel in preferring an image of higher resolution that includes the rating rather than an image of lower resolution that doesn't. Additionally, I also like images that aren't just big enough so they simply fit the infobox, but are larger so when the person reading the article clicks on the photo they can see it larger (if that description makes sense). --Bleeh(talk!) ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Going with what Bleeh said, I prefer the high resolution box art images with the ratings on them. If visually on par box art images without ratings can be provided, I will support the proposal to replace all current images with ones without the ratings. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 04:56, June 26, 2014 (UTC)
