I assume that there will be a The Sims 4. The current games are The Sims 3 Pets and The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles. It might be between 2-3 years.WinMacSims3 18:11, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

- I can almost guarantee that they're working on something, but it's anyone's guess what The Sims 4 will look like. For example, EA may find that they want to move more towards a social network-connected game (such as The Sims Social) instead of a standalone game. - Warning: OFF SITE MATERIAL IS LEAKED. I was surfing YouTube today and clicked on a video about the release of an expansion pack which was called Generations and the perosn doing the video said, quoting him, an 88 day cycle from EP to SP to EP to SP and so on cycle and he said the early May 2011 that Generations would be out. Of course, Generations was out in store late May 2011. So yeah, room for errors like this. He did say on the video that there is a confimed 10 EP and 10 SP in The Sims 3 series and said that there is an 88 day cycle from Ep to SP ritation. And he perdicted, quoting him from the video, that The Sims 4 will be out on September 16, 2014. The YouTube video was called The Sims 3 EP and The Sims 4 if I can remember it right, so, if anyone would like to view it, please do. I am only repeating what I have heard from earlier from today. But, he also said what few of the repliers that why force something when it is down the road a year or two down? So, in truth, be greatful, which I am, to have The Sims 3 EPS and SPS coming out and if there is The Sims 4, then, yes I am grateful that there is a TS4. Other than that, why rush everything. - The Sims 2 was released in 2004 and The Sims 3 was released in 2009, leaving a 5 year gap for TS2's EPs and SPs. TS3 is 2 years old at this moment in time so I'd say that The Sims 4 would be out in 2/3 years at the earliest. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they weren't planning something already but given that this is EA we're talking about, I also wouldn't be surprised if they tried to milk TS3 for all it's worth. If there is a Sims 4, I would hope to God that it is more of an updated & expanded Sims 2, because I LOVE the Sims 2. Sims 3 looks awful, it doesn't even seem like the Sims anymore! Too cartoony, too.......odd. I know I can't judge a book by it's cover, but I can tell it's a whole different animal. ANYWAYS...a Sims 4 seems promising, considering the oodles of money EA has received over the years. - I hope The Sims 4 ditches the cartoony look as well (it's one of the main reasons why the Sims 3 currently collects dust on the HD - I couldn't seem to find anything that would ditch the cartoon look of the sims), but recently going though some old pics I had from The Sims 2, I was surprised at how visually rough those models were. I think The Sims 3 is well crap. It's dead cartoony, too kiddish. No way am I playing another 2 or 3 years for it. I wanna it now! Ta!?
What? Don't judge a book by its cover. TS3 is one of the best in the Sims series. What do you mean by "cartoony"? Are you all graphics nerds now? Kiddish? Some people are far to ignorant. The Sims 3 is a MASSIVE step forward from the Sims 2, and people are way to ignorant and stupid to see this because they are immediately turned off due to the "Cartoonish" graphics. Seriously, there are so many improvements in the Sims 3 compared to two that playing 2 now is almost unbearable. People need to stop putting so much emphasis on Graphics and focus on what really matters, the Gameplay. And the gameplay in The Sims 3 is miles better then any "Sims" game that has been made yet. Also, to "Odd" Is a stupid thing to say, the Sims series has always had that qwerky atmosphere and that good old fashioned Maxis humor (Despite no longer being developed by Maxis). If you consider yourself a Sims fan, please, try the Sims 3. This game is getting almost as bad of a reputation as Team Fortress 2 did, due to the cartoony graphics style, but really, both are amazing games more then worthy of there title.
This ends the rant, and to be at least a little on topic. I think that Sims 4 is being developed, the reason I think this is simply because of the size of the series and the popularity, EA would not let that go for a while without another installment in the series, as eventually these Expansions and Stuff Packs are not going to be enough to feed the community. - I agree with your comment, a lot of people have been complaining too much on The Sims 3 and it seems that its probably more about the gameplay and the cost of paying for it. I love The Sims series but when 3 came out people seemed to be disgusted from it. I thought it was about the cost but it seems they hate EA more than just that. I think any fan of anything should stop complaining and just stop playing the game or deal with it. - It's very likely that there will be a The Sims 4, just based simply off the popularity of The Sims 3. Even if it wasn't well-liked by everyone, it's sold a lot of games (as well as the EPs and SPs) and The Sims is one of the most recognizable game series of all time. I have to say that there probably will be a Sims 4(I do not know this for certain, but hear me out).
The Sims as a whole is a massive franchise, and there are many people that buy their merchandise, so the more Sims games that EA release, the more expansion packs and games people will be able to buy, therefore EA will be able to gain more money from their releases.
Although there is currently no evidence from EA other than a possibly leaked game trailer, EA may not want to advertise it so that people will continue to buy Sims 3 games, there expansion pack, stuff packs, and games before it. It's similar to how Apple waited quite closely to the release date of the iPad 3 until they announced it being released. This could be happening to the Sims, and they may just want to keep it quiet until they have released their expansion packs and many people have bought the games that have already existed. We might still be waiting till 2013 or 2014, but it's a possibility right?

I think the sims is a awesome game and is personally one of my favorites. Hopefully EA will come out with the Sims 4 but a take a while. It might even be till 2015!!! No body really knows until WE announced it. So we just have to keep waiting and hoping!!! B.T.W. If your a sims fan your awesome!!! Also if your not please explexplain WHY YOUR NOT!!! ,
