If any of you know how to install The Sims Complete Collection on Windows 10, please help me. I'm afraid to downgrade it. I've tried to look up if my other Sims games/video games would be uninstalled/corrupted with the downgrade but I didn't find anything.-- Blameitonmyotp (talk) 01:39, October 12, 2016 (UTC)

I have successfully installed The Sims Complete Collection on my Windows 10 laptop, and have had no issues with it so far. Only caveat is that, if you play the game in fullscreen mode, you cannot Alt+Tab away from the game, or it will freeze when you return to it (Had to power cycle my laptop after that). If you plan on sitting down and doing nothing but play the game for a set period of time without using your computer for anything else, that's no bother. However, if you are like me and like shifting away from the game temporarily to check something else, or if you're playing the game and trying to work at the same time, you will need to play the game in windowed mode, or you'll rip your hair out.
Windowed mode is how I roll, but when you open the game you'll get the infamous "black box" glitch that obstructs the play area completely. The solution is to press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your keyboard and then exit that screen. You should be able to see the game. Windowed mode works fine, but the play area is horrendously small, and you can't adjust it.
Granted my laptop came preinstalled with Windows 10 (I had a laptop with Windows 7 but resisted Microsoft's malicious attempts to force Windows 10 onto it) so I never had an option to downgrade, but I did install (and later rolled back, since it broke TS2) the Anniversary Update. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 01:50, October 12, 2016 (UTC)
I remember installing The Sims Deluxe on my laptop when it was Windows 8.1 and it worked just fine—until I used Alt + Esc in which I didn't know would mess up the game and completely uninstalled it afterwards—and I tried to install it when I upgraded to Windows 10 but it usually got stuck somewhere in the middle of installing. Same for The Sims Complete Collection, It got to the third expansion before it got stuck (on both my laptop AND my computer). I just really don't want to waste my money on a game that I can't play and I really want to add The Sims pictures on my new Fanons (plus I love The Sims, even tho I only got to play it for about two to three hours on my laptop with the previously mentioned Deluxe version.) I just wonder if downgrading my Windows 10 would harm my current games I already have on my computer... -- Blameitonmyotp (talk) 01:22, October 13, 2016 (UTC)
Alt+Esc and Alt+Tab pretty much do the same thing; they let you jump from window to window. I do know that any other compilation of The Sims, aside from the Complete Collection, is a bit wonky with newer operating systems. EA did something to the Complete Collection that makes it work just fine on newer systems, which is why the CC will usually work where other compilations and combinations won't.
You could try downgrading, and it shouldn't harm your games, not to my knowledge. If you're paranoid you can always back them up onto a USB or cloud storage. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:06, October 13, 2016 (UTC)
It turns out I can't downgrade a pre-installed Windows 10 Home version. I might have to try downgrading my laptop to play it. But that'll be a major pain having to switch from my laptop and computer when I want to upload things on the wikia.... I'll try one last time to install it on my computer before I try and downgrade my laptop. -- Blameitonmyotp (talk) 01:17, October 14, 2016 (UTC)
