Okay, as some of you may already be aware, some players - myself included - believe that Mrs. CrumpleBottom is the long lost daughter of Agnes Crumplebottom and Erik Darling. While this is certainly a strong possibility, and there's a lot of players I've heard of that have suggested much the same thing, it is rather inconsistent considering that Mrs. Crumplebottom did not re-appear in The Sims 3.

This is probably due to the fact that Mrs. Crumplebottom's existence was specifically intended to be the equivilent of Agnes Crumplebottom, since Agnes was already deceased by the time of The Sims 2. Also the game developers have yet to confirm what Mrs. Crumplebottom's relation to the rest of the Crumplebottoms is, if they ever do. There was some speculation that Mrs. Crumplebottom would return in The Sims 3: Late Night, though when the expansion pack came out she was not included in it. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:42, September 11, 2015 (UTC)

Prior to its shut down, I saved a chat from the official Sims 2 website about Night Life. It says that Mrs. CrumpleBottom is a distant relative of Agnes. I think that "distant relative" excludes the theory of a long lost daughter.

Furthermore, Agnes and Erik have a light skin whereas Mrs. CrumpleBottom has a medium skin.

I think we have to make up our minds that the developers simply wanted to bring back a Crumplebottom, but the one from The Sims 1 (Agnes) being already dead, it was necessary to create another one. And to explain the resemblance, they said it was a distant relative. I do not think they thought about a particular genealogy.

True. I quite like having Mrs. Crumplebottom with medium skin, since having light skin for that NPC would have been too pale. I think the main reason there's been some suggestions that Mrs. Crumplebottom may be the daughter of Agnes and Erik is because there aren't any other "known" Crumplebottoms or in Erik's case, Crumplebottom fiancée, besides Cornelia Goth, who would have been in the right age group to be the parent of Mrs. Crumplebottom. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:29, September 11, 2015 (UTC)
