How to Resurrect a Family

Method One: The Tombstone of Life and Death

Needed items are the Tombstone of L & D (acquired through the boolprop testingcheatsenabled cheat) and a Resurrect-O-Nomitron. Make sure your selected Sim has no actions in their queue, and pause the game. Click the Tombstone and cycle through the Add Neighbour to Family... option until you find the name of the Sim. Click the name. Now resume and pause quickly by pressing the 'P' key on your keyboard twice. If you did it right, the Sim will stay on the screen without turning into a ghost. Then, still paused, use the "deceased" Sim to Call the Grim Reaper on the Resurrect-O-Nomitron. They will resurrect one of their family members, and then become a ghost. Then, use the newly resurrected Sim to bring back their family members.

Method Two: The Mailbox

The easiest way to resurrect a family could be this. You need to have your "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" activated.

  1. Select your playable Sim.
  2. Shift+click on the mailbox.
  3. Click on the button which says "Make Me Know Everyone". This cheat will make your selected Sim know everyone, even those who passed away.
  4. Get the Resurrect-O-Nomitron. Just shift+click on the newspaper, then select Career Rewards under Paranormal.
  5. Resurrect all the family members.

Method Three: Descendants (no cheats method)

If there are townies that are descended from the Sim you want to resurrect you can use this method. If you can make them playable, they can resurrect him with the Resurrect-o-nomitron.

1. Identify a descendant of your Sim. You will see your Sim in their family tree once they are playable.

2. Make the descendant playable. See Townie#Turning a Townie into a Playable Sim.

3. Get Resurrect-o-nomitron via the Paranormal career track.

4. Have the descendant resurrect your Sim.

5. Have the now resurrected Sim resurrect the rest of the Family.

Method Four: Genie Lamp (no cheats method number two)

Similar to the process above, you can alternatively have a family member or close friend use a genie lamp to resurrect a dead Sim. The Matchmaker will randomly give the genie lamp as a gift, though she seems to do it more frequently to those who call her often.

When you obtain it, simply 'Dust Lamp' and 'Wish' 'Ressurrect (Sim)."

Method Five: Witch Spell

You can use the evil witch's spell to turn one of the family members into a zombie. From there, the zombie can resurrect the rest of the family members.

Fixing the package file

Requires SimPE.

If, in game, a Sim is treated like a non-resurrectable Sim this can be fixed using SimPE.

  1. Go to the character file.
  2. Select "Object Data" from the resource tree and select the file that appears in the resource list.
  3. In the plugin view change the "obj. type" (upper right hand corner) from "unknown" to "person."
  4. Commit and save.
  5. Now in game, the Sim is addable to your household with boolprop.

Getting the "Oh My Ghost!" Special Opportunity

  1. Make any Sim and have them become friends with a relative of the Sim you want to resurrect.
  2. Move the Sim in to their household and kill the Sim.
  3. The relative will receive the "Oh My Ghost!" opportunity. Instead of taking the dead Sim's tombstone take the tombstone of the Sim you want resurrected to the Science lab.
  4. When the relative comes out the dead Sim will be a controllable ghost.

Resurrect as a normal sim

If you want to get your ghost sim back to normal, have them eat ambrosia, that will change them from a ghost to a normal sim!
