There are two ways of making a child or younger live alone. The first way consists of killing off the parents, then play the child again straight after it gets you off the household. Notice the babysitter will stay no matter what. The second way consists of playing another household and make the parent of the desired household with the child the player wants to live alone. Make the parents join the household through "testingcheatsenabled true", then go on to the newly alone child.

This tutorial will explain the ways in which players can have a family consisting of Sims aged child and younger.

Note: This tutorial is only relevant to The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. Players can simply create a family without adults in The Sims, without the use of cheats.

Foreword[edit | edit source]

Please note that for making this event work, the player must kill the older Sim(s). Consult this game guide if unsure about killing Sims.

The Sims 2[edit | edit source]

  1. Move your family to an apartment lot. Do not rent any of the apartments.
  2. Kill off all members of the family except the one Sim you want to live alone.
  3. You can now move the Sim to any other lot.

The Sims 3[edit | edit source]

Example of the result in The Sims 3

Method 1[edit | edit source]

  1. Hire a babysitter
  2. Kill off everyone else in the family
  3. The babysitter should stay no matter what

Method 2[edit | edit source]

  1. Play another household and make the parent of the desired household with the child the player wants to live alone.
  2. Make the parents join the household through the "testingcheatsenabled true" cheat.
  3. Now move onto the newly alone child.

Method 3[edit | edit source]

  1. Create the sim(s) you want to live alone, and an adult.
  2. Type in "testingcheatsenabled true" in the cheat box.
  3. Shift-click the adult/social worker and press "Object" than "Delete it".
  4. The adult will vanish and the Social Workers won't come.

Cautions[edit | edit source]

  • If a lone toddler has not been taught its toddler skills before they age up, a random trait will be selected when the toddler becomes a child. This is because the babysitter will not teach any toddler skills. However, you players remove/change the random trait using the testingcheatsenabled cheat, shift+clicking the Sim, and pick their traits.
  • Once Edit Town has been selected, the lone Sim(s) will become unplayable.
  • If a child throws a party with a toddler in the household the babysitter will leave. This can make the child and toddler totally alone.
