The Sims Wiki regularly chooses featured content to be displayed on the Main Page and other portals. Use the navigation box to see the current featured content, vote for new featured content, or see past featured content.

Continuous features[edit source]

The following are always featured somewhere on the wiki, and are updated regularly.

Featured article[edit source]

On or around the 1st of each month, The Sims Wiki counts the votes made for Featured Article and places the winner on the main page.

Featured media[edit source]

Every month on around the 1st of the month, votes are counted for Featured Media and the winner is placed on the Main Page.

Featured game guide[edit source]

Every month on The Sims Wiki, a game guide will be featured on the Game Guide Portal. The Featured Game Guide will be chosen by the community through voting, but they should be the most organized, most understandable, best written, and generally the best tutorials in the Game guide Namespace.

Monthly questions[edit source]

Every month, The Sims Wiki hosts a Monthly Question, asking an open-ended question (or questions) to the community at large. The question is posted on the main page, and in a separate Monthly Question blog. This feature has replaced the role of Polls with the purpose of a more involved community engagement. The feature first operated in June 2014.

Discontinued features[edit source]

The following are no longer used as featured content.

Featured contest[edit source]

Since July 2010, The Sims Wiki is also running a bi-monthly featured contest. A poll runs for a month to decide which contest should be featured and the next month we feature the winner. You can add your ideas for featured contests here. You can nominate your own User Created Contests.

At times the poll might be skipped if there's a featured contest we'd like to do before it's too late. Such as an example was the contest to find a name of the, at the time, unnamed new Neighborhood coming in The Sims 3: Late Night. Sadly, EA chose the name Bridgeport halfway through the contest.

Polls[edit source]

The Sims Wiki periodically created and/or updated a poll on the main page. Older polls were archived for later viewing here. As of May 2014, the poll feature has been discontinued and replaced with Monthly Question. The archive for discussion of retiring the poll can be found here.

Featured fan fiction[edit source]

Every month on The Sims Wiki, a fan fiction story will be featured on the Fanon Portal. The Featured Fan fiction will be chosen by the community through voting, but they should be the most organized, most understandable, best written, most interesting, and generally the best fan fiction in the Fanon Namespace. Anyone can nominate fan fiction here while see past featured fan fiction here.

Featured fanon[edit source]

Every month on The Sims Wiki, a fanon page will be featured on the Fanon Portal. The Featured Fanon will be chosen by the community through voting, but they should be the most organized, most understandable, best written, most interesting, and generally the best fanon pages in the Fanon Namespace. Anyone can nominate a fanon article here while previous featured fanon can be found here.

Featured Author[edit source]

Every month on The Sims Wiki, an author will be featured on the Fanon Portal. The Featured author will be chosen by the community through voting, but they should be the most organized, most understandable, best writers, most interesting, and generally the best author in the Fanon namespace. Anyone can nominate authors here.

Fanon Battles[edit source]

Every fortnight, The Sims Wiki selects two new fanons and pits them together in a 1 vs. 1 battle of popularity! Any user may come and vote on the candidate they want to win! At the end of the round, the fanon with the most votes is declared the winner, and another two fanons are selected for the next round. This feature was discontinued as of July 2015 due to low popularity.

Battles[edit source]

Every fortnight, The Sims Wiki selects two new articles and pits them together in a 1 vs. 1 battle of popularity! Any user may come and vote on the candidate they want to win! At the end of the round, the article with the most votes is declared the winner, and another two articles are selected for the next round. This feature was discontinued as of February 2017 due to low popularity.

Voting guidelines[edit source]

  1. Under the "Votes" Section, place the name of the content you wish to nominate in between three equals signs as follows: ===Content Name===. EVERYONE and ANYONE is free to choose ANY article (excluding those that have already been featured (Check past content first). If the article you want to vote for has already been nominated, proceed to step two.
  2. Place #--~~~~ underneath the nominated article. The code will automatically convert into your user name and the time of your vote. You must sign your name. Comments can be placed between "#" and "--~~~~".
  3. Do NOT vote for the same content more than once. Each bullet (#) counts as a vote.
  4. Please add new nominations to the BOTTOM of the list.
  5. In the case of media, it must be uploaded to or embedded on The Sims Wiki.

It's a good idea to see how other nominations are added before adding your own.
