Not unticking relationship boxes before proceeding

Would it be safe to do this without unticking all the relationship boxes beforehand? Since there are some Sims that I plan on deleting from this PC that I typically use during the holidays, to free up space, and I really don't want to have to go through the process of unticking thousands of relationship boxes.

It says that all I need to do is remove unwanted Sim's family ties, but it doesn't say that I have to do it with Sims that aren't related to the said Sim. Is that the case? ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 07:48, October 2, 2015 (UTC)
