Goofball is an Emotional Trait that was introduced in The Sims 4. "These Sims tend to be Playful."

Like all emotional traits, Goofball causes Sims who possess it to tend towards a particular emotion: in this case, Playful. A Goofball Sim may randomly enter the Playful emotional state without having to engage in the activities that would normally bring it on. Goofball Sims will often want to engage in playful activities such as watching TV, playing with toys or electronics, and increasing their Mischief skill by doing mischievous socials on other Sims. However, those other Sims might not appreciate the joke, and Goofballs who enter into the Very Playful, Silly, or Hysterical emotional states might have an increasingly difficult time focussing on activities that don't increase their Fun need. Characters in the Playful emotional state can try to calm themselves down in front of a mirror.
