When the family is first played, it is a Sunday morning.
* Tank and Ripp both went to college at La Fiesta Tech. Ripp fell in love with Blossom Moonbeam. After they graduated, they got married. They have one son who is a toddler and they probably won't have anymore children. Tank accidentally fell for an alien named Stella Terrano. They got married after they graduated. General Buzz was furious at his son for marrying an alien and they don't speak much anymore. Tank is following in his father's footsteps as a military man. Stella has a job in the Natural Science career track. They had twins Kim and Jim, who are now children. Buck grew up and married his childhood sweetheart Jill Smith. They moved back in with General Buzz. They are currently expecting their first child and want many many more!

* The General married Bella Goth, Tank married Stella Terrano, Ripp is currently seeing Melody Tinker, Buck married Jill Smith and they all lived happily ever after!
|etymology = Grunt -- Means to grunt. "Grunt" is also a derogatory slang term for "infantry". (US Military Slang from the Vietnam War)

General Buzz Grunt : his proper name could be Edwin, after Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin, but that is speculative. (Edwin means rich, blessed friend). The name Buzz also might have something to do with the "buzz cut" haircut that a lot of army recruits get.
* BEWARE, I made this family completely wacko, but they live happier now though. When I first started, I attempted to make Tank and Ripp's sibling relationship better (they didn't make it to being friends until Tank left for college). General Buzz ending up falling in love with (I warned you), Vidcund Curious! So they joined union together, Buck took an interest in very feminine items such as dollhouses, Easy Bake oven and even wore pink clothing. Eventually when he transitioned into a teenager I made the drastic change, made him a girl with some mods (gender behavior to female, changing his voice and behavior and downloading girl clothing to make him appear female. And changed his name from "Buck" to "ReBucka!". Ripp's relationship with his father (Buzz) got better and they became friends, along with Vidcund. Before Tank left for college, I had him get a job and reach the top level making him an overachiever. He was married to a townie at La Fiesta Tech named Joy, who bore his first daughter. Unfortunately she died in a bad fire, so Ripp after he graduated with a 3.9 moved in to help take care of the kids until Tank Joined Union with his roommate from college. Ripp now has a son named Val, from an unprotected Woohoo with his wife, Michelle. Buzz and Vidcund had a boy together (mods) named Vincent, and they adopted another boy who's 1 day older than Vincent named Amin. Vincent dropped out after his Sophmore year after changing his aspiration to "Romance", and Amin graduated shortly after and moved in with Vincent.

Lyla Grunt (Gen. Buzz's ex-wife) : Persian for "dark princess'", Hebrew for night.
* In my game Tank and Ripp are still teens. But Tank has a crush on a CAS i made named Princess Freakshow (i know hahaha. Shes completely wacko. And Ripp has a crush on a girl named Tiffany...umm i forget her last name but she just came when i had Ripp get a blind date. I was planning on making Buck marry Jill Smith when they were older (like a Romeo and Juliet thing), but for now, they are just kids.

Tank Grunt (Gen. Buzz's oldest son): Probably a reference to his father being in the Army.

Ripp Grunt (Gen. Buzz's middle son): Shortened form of the German name Rippert. It means "power and famous".

Buck Grunt (Gen. Buzz's youngest son): A young buck; an adventurous, impetuous, dashing, or high-spirited young man. Also refers to the male deer.

General Chip Grunt (Gen. Buzz's father): Means a lot of things, such as French Fries.

Missy Grunt (Gen. Buzz's mother): A young female; It also means Miss Grunt.

Mike Steel (Missy's father): Mike is short for Michael, means "who is like god", and steel as in steel, a metal alloy of mostly iron plus carbon, harder than pure iron but malleable when hot.

Mary Melons (Missy's mother): Mary means "to be bitter", while Melons as in melon, a type of fruit. So her name means, "bitter fruit," possibly a reference to the fact that they probably didn't mean to have Missy as she was born illegitimate, therefore making her a "bitter fruit."
The reason why Mary does not have the same last name as Mike is that Missy was an illegitimate child. She was born outside marriage.

General Rock Grunt (Chip's father): The name rock could be referencing a sort of harshness as rocks are known to be very hard and solid.

Wanda Grunt (Chip's mother): Wanda is a German name that is known to mean family or wander. It is likely she is meant to be the opposite of her husband.

* I moved the General and Buck out and moved my teen CAS Gabrielle in. Tank and Ripp are both in love with her and hate each other even more know since her arrival. MUAHAHAH!
*The military base in Lunar Lakes is named after this family, Grunt Military Base.
*In The Sims 4, it says the household uses no material from packs, which is false. The family is still playable in the base game, but with certain aspects removed or changed, such as no members having the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration. However, some of the members still have the Home Turf trait and Lyla's death type is still poison in the base game, despite these normally being unavailable without certain packs.

* Ophelia cheats on Johnny with Ripp, making Johnny and Ripp hate each other. Buzz is pleased to hear they hate each other; he thinks Ripp has finally come to his senses. Ripp falls in love with Ophelia, but since he's a romance sim, he didn't want to just be with her. He flirts with a townie girl Tank brought home from school one day, and they end up making out. She falls in love with him, but he doesn't feel the same way about her, so now he ignores her. Tank brings home another townie girl named Margaret. Ripp and Margaret make out and fall in love. Ripp truly cares for Margaret. One night, he sneaks out with her, but unfortunately, gets caught by Buzz. In the future, I plan to make Ripp and Margaret get married, and to have Buck and Jill get together. Also, Buzz is starting to enjoy stargazing more and more, so maybe something will come of that...

The Grunt family is a military family from The Sims 2 and return in The Sims 4 available in The Sims 4 Gallery.[1] They live in Strangetown, a neighborhood that comes with the base game. General Buzz Grunt is the father of three sons named Tank, Ripp and Buck Grunt. Tank Grunt wants to be more like his father, while Ripp Grunt just wants some romance, and little Buck Grunt is just left out. His wife, Lyla Grunt, divorced him and was later electrocuted under mysterious circumstances. She is buried in the Specter family graveyard.

General Buzz and Tank have a grudge against the Curious family for being so strange, and the Smith family due to them being aliens, but Ripp and Buck have positive relationships with Johnny and Jill Smith, respectively.

The family picture to the right can give a pretty good image of the family members' personalities, and why they clash so much: Tank and Buzz are clearly domineering and tough. Ripp just seems lazy, while Buck appears to be more sensitive, thoughtful, and studious. Out of all their deceased relatives, only Lyla and Mary Melons can be resurrected.

When the family is first played, it is a Sunday morning.

Trivia

 • The military base in Lunar Lakes is named after this family, Grunt Military Base.
 • In The Sims 4, it says the household uses no material from packs, which is false. The family is still playable in the base game, but with certain aspects removed or changed, such as no members having the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration. However, some of the members still have the Home Turf trait and Lyla's death type is still poison in the base game, despite these normally being unavailable without certain packs.
