Hamlet Dane, Jr., is one of the pre-made, unplayable ancestral Sims who is father of Cornwall Capp. He resided, during his lifetime, in Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods that ships with the game. His wife was Tobea Dane. Together, the two had Cornwall Capp (né Dane). He taught Cornwall how to walk and how to talk when he was a toddler.

According to Cornwall's memories, Hamlet died not long after Cornwall aged into an adult. Hamlet's wife, Tobea, died not long after Cornwall got married. Unlike most deceased Veronaville Sims, he has personality points. He also has 11,500 aspiration points and will want to have a baby. This is likely due to Maxis having partially overwritten Bianca Monty’s original character file when Veronaville was still in development. An earlier description of Bianca’s bio can be found in Hamlet’s character file in different languages. In addition, the metadata in the playable Bianca’s character file states that her bio was copied over from Hamlet’s file.

In the game files, the Monty’s recognize Hamlet as a direct family member as if he were Bianca, however, this is not reflected in-game due to Hamlet’s removal from the Monty’s family tree. Hamlet’s NID also strongly suggests that it originally belonged to Bianca as the Sims created before and after him are Montys.

Hamlet Jr., and his father share the name of the title character in Shakespeare's Hamlet. His name is from Hamlet's father, the king, who was also named Hamlet.
