Hyacinth Atkins is an elderly Sim residing in Bridgeport. She lives with her twin sister and Violet and her grandnephew Jett Atkins. Hyacinth is also Cressida Wells's mother. Like her sister she is retired from business track, at level 5 (Department Head). She is best friends with her sister, good friends with her grandnephew and distatnt friends with her daughter.

She and her sister share almost all of their characteristics, including almost all their traits (except that Violet is Unlucky, while Hyacinth is Lucky), their taste for Classical music, their deepest desire of presenting the perfect private aquarium, their hairstyle and their clothing. The physical difference resides in the colors of their clothing and hair: Hyacinth's are light blue and Violet's are light purple, but their facial features are exactly the same.
