It is available in a Standard and Gold edition. Lucky Palms is actually two towns in one, dividedsegregated by a highway:; aton one side is Lucky Palms, set at the edge of a beautiful blue lake, and toon the other side isrests thea dried up lake with thea small collection of houses and abandoned community lots that surroundsurrounding it. There is also a gas station, a pharmacy and a yacht club that have been abandoned and converted into [[residential lots for your sims to live inlot]]s. ThisA islarge thepercentage first world whereof the EA world building team have left's lots ofare empty, lotsgiving forthe playersplayer tofreedom addof newmind venuesto frombuild newas expansionthey packs toplease. If ''[[The Sims 3: Seasons|Seasons]]'' is also installed, the Civic Center Park behind the City Hall will be replaced with [[festival grounds]].

The town hasfeatures two returning simsSims from [[Pleasantview]] in ''[[The Sims 2]]'': [[Darren Dreamer]], who is living by himself, and his future wife [[Darleen Matlapin]], living with her parents, [[Mariana Matlapin|Mariana]] and [[Omar Matlapin|Omar]].

There is a [[wishing well#The Sims 3 Store|wishing well]] in the centermiddle of the town which can grant several different wishes. The wishing well is, located in the Botanic Garden, just in front of  [[city hall]]. 

Students[[Child]]ren and [[teen]]agers in Lucky Palms all have pre-set C grades at school at the start of the game.

Darren Dreamer here, artist in residence to the fabulous town of Lucky Palms! And by artist I mean REAL artist, not the bumming on my best friends couch hopefuls! I am a single adult male whose interests include painting, computer games, and preparing grilled cheese sandwiches. I don’tdon't really enjoy spending much time outdoors, but I do love painting landscapes!

Something I love about our town of Lucky Palms is how many unique and beautiful things there are to paint. Whether it’sit's the rich orange and reds of the mountains, the desert green on the skin of the cactus, or the rising sun’ssun's reflection on the surface of the lake our surroundings are bursting with natural beauty and vibrant color!

There are 96 lots in total are in Lucky Palms: 35 commercialcommunity lots, 2437 emptyresidential lots, and  3724 residentialempty lots.
