Maria Arlecchino (née Amantes) is one of the pre-made, yet unplayable ancestral Sims that resided in Veronaville in The Sims 2. She was the daughter of Petruchio and Katherina Amantes, the wife of Trinculo Arlecchino, the mother of Hero Monty (née Arlecchino), and the grandmother of Beatrice, and Benedick Monty.

Like her daughter, Maria died a mysteriously untimely death, having died as an adult. Also like her daughter, she is unplayable without the use of hacks, such as SimPE. Also if one looks in her character file in SimPE, her elder thumbnail has an unused hairstyle. Amantes is a word used in Portuguese and Spanish language that means in English lovers.

A hidden thumbnail of her can be found in her files, viewable in SimPE, showing her as an elder with another outfit and her hair tied in an unused hairstyle with two buns. It is unknown why this picture exists, although this happens with many other deceased Veronaville Sims who died young. The née Amantes can be translated in Latin as "loving." However, Amantes is a plural present participle, not singular.

Maria is a character in two Shakespearean plays. In Twelfth Night, she is Olivia's hand maiden, and in Love's Labour's Lost, she is a helper of the King of France and falls in love with Longaville.
