She is a Dog Trainer and owns a dog named [[Bruno Carter|Bruno]]. In the [[Best in Show]] story, Melissa and Bruno compete in the SimCity Dog Show together against [[Alice Whitt]] and her dog [[Sam Whitt|Sam]]. She first appears in the story at [[List of Garden Heights lots#Playground for Precious|Playground for Precious]], where Alice arrives with her dog Sam to registrate for the dog show. When Alice comes to chat with Melissa, she refuses to offer any advice to her.
She appears at [[List of Garden Heights lots#The Show Park|The Show Park]] where the dog show qualifications for the SimCity final take place. Melissa and Bruno participate after [[Coach Grinder]] and his dog [[Meat Grinder]], followed by Alice and Sam and [[Diana DeBore]] and [[Precious DeBore|Precious]]. After everyone finished, Meat and Bruno get into a fight, which caused both of them to be disqualified from the dog show. As a result, Alice and Sam go through to the finals at [[List of Garden Heights lots#Bartholomew Greens|Bartholomew Greens]].
Melissa and Bruno can be found residing at [[List of Garden Heights lots#1344 Buddy Street|1344 Buddy Street]] and become playable from there after the story is finished.
