He lives in an inexpensive Sunset Valley house with his father Iqbal and teen brother VJ; his mother is said to have ran away and she does not appear on Alvi's family tree. Being both friends with his big brother VJ and good friends with their father Iqbal, Miraj often finds himself playing the role of mediator. He wishes that his brother would stop giving their dad such a hard time and is constantly trying to make the two make amends.
