Iqbal Alvi (اقبال علوی) is a pre-made Sim that resides in Sunset Valley. He has two sons, VJ and Miraj. Although he and his youngest son, Miraj, share a good relationship and are good friends, he and his oldest son, VJ, dislike each other.

He seems to be an unlucky man whose wife left him and probably the town altogether, because his wife doesn't show up on the Alvi family tree. He works at the office building for a living and tries to raise his sons alone, but things aren't working out well, as his oldest son, VJ, blames Iqbal for his mother leaving and has grown into having a rebellious and Evil personality, causing mischief around the neighborhood and tormenting Iqbal on a regular basis. His youngest son Miraj, however is trying to repair the relationship between VJ and his father because of his Good and Family-Oriented personality.

When first played, Iqbal is 6 days away from becoming an elder. He is a Report Processor in the Business Career track. He starts out with 2 skill points in Logic and 1 skill point in Fishing. He has the fantasy novel The Warlock of Palladia in his inventory. His name is Arabic for "prosperity" or "good fortune," which is ironic as he has the poorest family in the town at the beginning of the game, having only 600 simoleons in their household funds.
