Rockwell Acres is the first location in The Sims 2 for console's story mode. It is a residential lot with three occupants: The Player-created protagonist of Story Mode, Ossie Madison and Felicity Usher. It's located in Pleasantview with modern suburban surroundings. It serves as the Player's Primary and starting House of the game.
Layout
The medium-sized house features a living room with a dining area and an open kitchen, a bathroom and three bedrooms, but only two have beds (the tutorial teaches the player how to buy one). The player won't stay in the lot for too long, unless they choose not to advance to the next lot or choose it as their primary House of Story Mode for living. In the back, there is a large yard with a patio and a trampoline.
Oddly, in the GameCube version, the bathroom is laid out slightly different. Yet both the PS2 and Xbox versions are the same.
The house costs around 30,000 simoleons.
Goals
With each location, the player must complete several Gold Wants in order to advance to the next location or unlock bonus locations. The final goal is referred to as the Platinum Want, and will unlock the next area. The player's Sim will have their own set of Gold Wants to complete, as will some of the other sims on the lot.
Rockwell Acres is the tutorial level for the game. The player's Sim is the only one controllable for this location, and Felicity and Ossie will not appear on the lot until the second Gold Want is completed.
Player
Upon completing the final goal, Shoreline Trails will be unlocked. The player can move there by using the taxi Call Box at the edge of the lot, near the road.
