Satellites in The Sims 2 are only seen after a Sim is killed by one. They can be described as a smoking, trashy mass of debris, but one can tell what they are exactly with the buy mode description or a photo looking at the particular Sim's death. One can kill a Sim with a satellite by having them Look at Clouds or Stargaze (not through the telescope, but on the ground) for a few hours. Satellites also sell for a massive amount of Simoleons, around §2,500, but the price drops rapidly, so it is best to go into buy mode as soon as possible to get the best price for the satellite.Being hit by a satellite is one of the two ways to kill a servo. In The Sims 3, Sims can spot satellites, among other astronomical features, while using a telescope to raise the Logic skill. Sims report their discovery remotely, name it, and thus earn a few §§§. Other Sims can spot pre-discovered satellites while stargazing. Link title
