Serena Durwood, (née Caliente) is a Sim who lives in Moonlight Falls with her husband, their two children and her burdensome mother. Like her mother, she is a witch but Serena tries to keep it secret. She is a Good Sim and loves her family more than everything. However, her mother Doreen, who is a proud witch, strongly disapproves her marriage with a normal Sim and tries her best to tear Serena and her husband apart.

Doreen went as far as cursing Rick with enormous ears, yet her devious trick did not work well as Serena apparently has a thing for big ears. Despite her mother's mean attitude toward her husband and their totally opposite personalities, Serena is best friends with Doreen.

She is unemployed at the start of the game and has 4 points in both Alchemy and Writing.

Trivia

Serena is a reference to Samantha Stephens from the popular TV Show Bewitched, as both she and Samantha are witches who married a mortal against their respective mother's will. After that, their mother would make their son-in-law's lives a living hell. Her first name is probably based on Samantha Stephens' twin cousin's Serena. She therefore would be the second Sim parody of Samantha, the first one being Sammi Claremont.
