Shannon Melkin is the wife of Dmitri Melkin, the mother of Leandra Rutherford, and the grandmother of Marissa Cleveland and Geoff Rutherford. She is also the great-grandmother of Justin Cleveland. Not much is known about her since she is deceased before the start of The Sims 2.
The source of the name Shannon is the Shannon River in Ireland. The word shannon is derived from Gaelic sean, meaning old or wise, and abhann, meaning river.
