The bed folds into the wall to save space. However, unlike real-life [[Wikipedia:Murphy bed|Murphy beds]], the space used by an opened bed is still considered to be in use when the bed is closed. While Sims are able to walk through that space, objects cannot be placed in that space without using the [[moveobjects]] cheat.
