Talk:DeAndre Wolfe

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by imported>LostInRiverview at 21:02, 31 October 2010 (→‎Relation to Wolff family). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This page needs to be moved to "DeAndre Wolfe" because that is the proper in-game spelling.--Eduardog3000 16:59, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I've tried to move but it don't let me to :(. -----Guilherme Guerreiro 17:12, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

That is why i put that here for an admin to help.--Eduardog3000 17:16, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

You can use Template:Move for that or no one will see it. --Duskeytalk 19:36, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Relation to Wolff family

someone keeps removing the part about his possible relation to the Wolff family, now the page has been protected, that part should be there.--Eduardog3000 17:40, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

No it shouldn't. Why should it? - JEA13 [iTalk] 17:41, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Why shouldn't it? It is the same as when there is a grave with a last name that is the same as another Sim but the family tree says nothing, we put it on here as a possible relation. Ex: Steel family.--Eduardog3000 17:44, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Just because two people have similar last names doesn't mean they share any relation. For example, two people with the last names 'Peterson' and 'Petersen' by your logic are somehow related. There is no in-game reason given to assume that the two are related, so the info should stay off, in my personal opinion. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 17:44, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Like the deleted part stated, in real-life sometimes the spelling of last names change over time, one branch of the family could've changed to Wolff, while the other changed to Wolfe.--Eduardog3000 18:04, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
And how come you say that is the case when you do know it isn't? - JEA13 [iTalk] 18:07, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not saying it is the case, I am saying it could be the case.--Eduardog3000 18:11, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but it's not the case, because it is never the case, because there are never any signs or clues indicating so. - JEA13 [iTalk] 18:12, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Just because a name can change over time doesn't mean that it did change. And without any evidence to say, or even hint, that there is a relation aside from the similarity of the name, there is absolutely no reason to add this information. And, while I hate to be the guy to say it, DeAndre Wolfe is black and the Wolffs are white - the chances of them being even distantly related is pretty slim. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 18:22, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
For the love of god, if they are not on their family tree or not even mentioned, THAN THEY ARE NOT RELATED. I really hate how so many users assume somebody is related to someone else, because, they have the same last name, or they simply look alike. It's really sad. [Ѧüя◎ґ]
Here's a timely and perfect example. In elementary school I had a teacher named Mrs. Wolff (no joke). There was another teacher named Mrs. Wolf. Similar names, yes; but they were not related. There is no reason here to assume any different. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 18:25, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, as for the black and white thing, one of the whites that changed to Wolfe could've married a black, and their child married a black, eventually leading up to DeAndre. As for Mrs. Wolff and Mrs. Wolf, first of all that is not their maiden names so they may not be related, but their husbands (Mr. Wolff and Mr. Wolf) are most likely (very distantly) related.--Eduardog3000 18:55, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

But this is exactly the point; how do you know? The answer is that you don't know. And since no one knows whether they really are related, and because there is absolutely no evidence to indicate that they are, it should not be included on the article. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 19:01, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Of course you don't know, the thing said that they may be related.--Eduardog3000 20:48, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

What about deceased sims who share a last name with live sims but don't appear on family trees, we still put them on the family pages as possible relatives.--Eduardog3000 20:50, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

That case makes sense. This one here is totally different. This is about two families, who are both alive, with different last names, in different neighborhoods, on different expansion packs. Now PLEASE STOP THIS. - JEA13 [iTalk] 20:55, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
In the Italian version his last name i "Whelohff" the same as the Zo Curious maiden name. xD

--Nacho 20:59, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

That's odd, but it only supports the idea that DeAndre isn't related to the Wolffs. In any case, the essential thing is to determine consensus here. In this case, I think that Eduardog is the only person that seriously thinks it should be included (please correct me if I'm wrong). If that's the case, the decision is pretty easy. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 21:02, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
