Is the name a pun?[edit source]

There seems to be disagreement about whether this Sim's name is a deliberate play on words/ a pun. I think it seems pretty plainly clear, at least to me, that the name is almost definitely a deliberate pun. But, since there seems to be some disagreement about the point, let's discuss it instead of edit warring about it. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog · contribs 00:03, February 14, 2018 (UTC)

So, I don't really mind either way but I'd like to defend myself here. When I saw that the information was removed I undid the latest revision but Joshuanl30 removed it again and threatened me. For what it's worth, I think his name is meant as a pun but I don't want to upset anyone so I don't care if it's removed. Gvaudoin (talk) 00:23, February 14, 2018 (UTC)
Maybe we could settle with a compromise and change the sentence to: "His last name could be a pun on Pain." After all it's hard to factually confirm this kind of thing, while the possibility is still there. - KailynnKat(talk/fanon) 00:45, February 14, 2018 (UTC)
I don't think so, as Payne is a real name. Joshua (talk) 11:33, February 14, 2018 (UTC)
I do believe it's mean to be a pun, but I'm okay with leaving that tidbit out of the article. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 22:42, February 14, 2018 (UTC)
I don't think the statement needs to be there, but I think if it's removed someone will probably add it back on anyways. I'd be supportive of changing the wording to say something like "His name may be a play on words," since we can't be 100% that it was intentional. - LostInRiverview talk · blog · contribs 01:48, February 15, 2018 (UTC)
