Try for Baby option[edit source]

The article states that Jenny cannot have a child, but I have gotten her pregnant by PT9 the first day I played the lot.--Bella Goth 03:28, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Bella Goth

The cutoff for that option appears to be somewhere between 11am and 5pm, but I don't know just when it is. Dharden (talk) 22:13, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

I think it depends on the time of the day, like Dharden said. I think installing some Expansion packs may also determine whether she can still get pregnant again or not. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 02:28, May 10, 2014 (UTC)

With FreeTime as the latest Pack, the cutoff for "Try For Baby" appears to be 11am, so there is still a little time in which she can still get pregnant. Dharden (talk) 04:06, May 22, 2014 (UTC)

Was Jenny adopted?[edit source]

Has anyone ever considered the possibility that Jenny was adopted? I never questioned this during my Sims 2 days, but the official Sims 4 recreation of her and her family made me think. None of her ancestors have light skin or green eyes like her, and it might explain why she's older than Lola and Chloe Singles in-game even though it appears she joined the family after them in the story mode images. It's just a theory, but I was wondering what other people might think. --Sumaes01 (talk) 03:08, April 24, 2019 (UTC)

As far as I'm concerned, none of them were adopted unless their memories explicitly state otherwise. I know that everyone is entitled to their own theories, but I don't really explore theories about the possibility of Sims being adopted, if they weren't adopted in canon.
Many of the memories are inconsistent with the ages of the Sims. Based on their memories, Alexander should be older than most of the Sims in the generation below him, even though he starts off younger than all the teenagers in the generation below him, as he is only a child at the start of the game.
Mary-Sue should technically have at least 19 days left before she becomes an elder, as it would make her age consistent with both the ages of Daniel and Cassandra, though not as consistent with Daniel's age as the number of days left she starts off with. However when making Mary-Sue 12 days younger in my game, I did inadvertently make her age less consistent with the ages of her daughters.
Based on the Pleasantview timeline, Beau should probably be a couple of days older than his default counterpart. Either that or Skip should have died later than the memories suggest. Even the storytelling images indicate that Dustin was still a child and Skip was still alive at the time of Beau's birth.
If we were to go by the storytelling images, since Angela, Lilith, and Lucy were all children at the same time based on the storytelling images, then Lucy should be a few days older than her default counterpart. Either that or Angela and Lilith should be a few days younger. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 12:09, April 24, 2019 (UTC)
Exactly. There are things in the Sims that make a lot less sense than the Curious family. Also, Jenny's mother Kitty Curious, her grandfather Hamm Hogleg, and her brother Vidcund Curious all have blond hair. Green is a recessive eye colour and her aunt(?) Glabe Curious has green eyes too. I don't think there's any reason why Jenny would be adopted. —Gvaudoin 💬 13:53, April 25, 2019 (UTC)
Adding on to my previous message - I was going to post it as one message but I got tired and needed to go to bed, forcing me to publish the first part of my message - some of the Curious family memories indicate that Pascal was the last to grow up even though he was the first of the brothers to be born. If we were to go by the storytelling images, then Pollination Technician Nine should be older than he appears in-game, if Lola and Chloe were meant to be born before Jenny. One of the biggest inconsistencies is that Nervous is in the same age group as Loki and Circe, despite living with them as a child.
The Grunt family's memories indicate that Tank, Ripp, and Buck were born before Lyla died. And Olive's memories indicate that Lyla died before Nervous was born, despite Nervous being an adult at the start of the game, while none of the Grunt boys start off as adults. Olive also remembers giving birth to Nervous, despite already being an elder. We have no way of knowing if Ophelia was already living by the time Nervous was born. Some players believe that Ophelia was born first, but there is no reliable evidence in the memories of any of the Sims that can confirm this. If Ophelia was born later then that would make her age inconsistent with the ages of the Grunt boys.
The only way things could be consistent regarding Nervous' age compared to the other pre-made Sims is if he had access to the Elixir of Life and got the negative effect. At the start of the game, the order the Capps were born in as evidenced by their ages in-game would be Consort, Albany, Cornwall, Goneril, Regan, Kent, Tybalt, Juliette, Hermia, Miranda, Hal, Desdemona, and Ariel. In my game I reorder the ages of the younger generation to make them more consistent with the memories of Consort and Albany. The order I put them in is Juliette, Hermia, Tybalt, Hal, Desdemona, Miranda, and Ariel.
I do this because the overall memories of the Capps imply that Juliette was a teenager when their parents died, Hermia was a child, and Tybalt was a toddler. And because Albany's memories state that Hal and Desdemona were born before Miranda was. When you place Albany's family in a household you will see that the game recognises Hal and Desdemona as being part of the household longer than Miranda. And their NIDs also state that Hal and Desdemona were created first.
At the start of the game, the order the Montys were born in as evidenced by their ages in-game would be Patrizio, Isabella, Antonio, Bianca, Mercutio, Romeo, Beatrice, and Benedick. In my game I reorder the ages of the last six living Montys to make them more consistent with their NIDs and/or their memories. The order I put them in is Bianca, Antonio, Beatrice, Benedick, Romeo, and Mercutio. Probably not quite as accurate as my reordering of the Capps, because the order resulted in inadvertently making Antonio much too young to be the father of Beatrice and Benedick.
Although it did make things more consistent with their NIDs, and the fact that Antonio is shown to be older than Claudio. That's the reason I chose to make Beatrice and Benedick older. And because their NIDs indicate that they were created first. I made Romeo older than Mercutio since he was created first, and he has more memories, implying that he's had a longer history of life experience. But that's way too much rambling from me, I should just say that it is not uncommon for these sorts of inconsistencies between Sims and their genetics and ages in the Sims 2. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 12:20, April 26, 2019 (UTC)
