Ok, I'm guessing she died recently (in the beginning of the game), because her being a coumputer-whiz if she died 20 years before the start of the game would make no sense. There weren't computers 70 years ago! I don't think there were computer 50 years ago, so why are there computers in The Sims 3 (Sims 3 is based about 50 years before Sims 2, which is based in the present I believe). If The Sims 2 is based in the future and Sims 3 is based in the present then that ruins my whole theory. :D

They have never given any specific year or timeline to when Sims is for all we know it could be in the year 4123. until they give any years to the game everything makes sense.
