Teenager is the fourth life state of a Sim in The Sims 2, and lasts for a maximum of 15 days.
- When a Sim child becomes a teenager, their life aspiration is set by the player for the first time, and when Nightlife is installed, turn-ons and turn-offs too.
- The teenage stage is crucially important to a Sim's development, as romantic relationships can develop for the first time (and most teen Sims will have a recurring want for their first kiss) and - when University is installed - success at school and in skill building can earn valuable scholarship money.
- Teens can also take a part time job.
- Some teens have hygiene problems- they can get zits if hygiene drops.
- Some teens will run away if their relationship with their family is too low.
- Teens can cook, drive a car and use gym equipment.
- If they become orphans, they can live on their own.
Teens are unique in that they can grow up into one of two separate ages: Adult or Young Adult, the latter will happen if the teen goes to University.
