A male teen...

Teenager is the fourth life state of a Sim in The Sims 2, and lasts for a maximum of 15 days.

  • When a Sim child becomes a teenager, their life aspiration is set by the player for the first time, and when Nightlife or later expansion packs are installed, turn-ons and turn-offs too.
  • The teenage stage is crucially important to a Sim's development, as romantic relationships can develop for the first time (and most teen Sims will have a recurring want for their first kiss) and - when University is installed - success at school and in skill building can earn valuable scholarship money.
  • Teens can also take a part time job.
  • Some teens have hygiene problems- they can get zits if hygiene drops.
  • Some teens will run away if their relationship with their family is too low.
  • Teens can cook, drive a car(Nightlife Expansion Pack required), and use gym equipment.
  • If they become orphans, they can live on their own, although they can live alone when all older sims have moved out of the lot.
