Choosing other people's fanon Sims for Battles

You can only choose fanon Sims of users who's usernames are on the 'list of volunteers'. But what if you ask a different user directly if you can use their fanon Sim for a fanon battle and they say yes. Does that mean it's okay to include their fanon Sim in a fanon battle? -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:26, August 6, 2014 (UTC)

I didn't even know that was what the list of volunteers was about. I thought they were people who would run the battles. Sorry that I can't answer your question because I really have no idea how the battles are run. Maybe there will be other input.
For what it's worth, I did notice this guideline on the nominations page. "There is a small exception, as one can nominate one's own fanon without being listed as a volunteer if the nominator wishes to protect his/her other fanons. Also, if one wishes to protect other fanons while wishing to nominate one's own, one may give out permission to another via talk, or put up the fanon article in the open single entries." So I guess it is possible for someone to give permission to have a fanon Sim in a battle via talk. -- Icemandeaf (talk) 01:21, October 1, 2014 (UTC)
I noticed that guideline as well, though I must have missed that last bit. So I guess it's possible then. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:25, October 1, 2014 (UTC)

How exactly do you volunteer for Fanon battles?

I wonder... is there any requirements for volunteering and nominating fanon battles? I can think of one requirement: "A fanon must not have an under construction infobox." I think that's what the box thingy is called. Am I wrong about that requirement? Also, I have thought of some good ideas, but I'll have to think about what pictures to put in.
