Black Backgrounds[edit source]

Hi! I have yet another question. How do you make the backgrounds black on your fanon profile pics? Is that with Paint, or how do you do that? I would love to learn how to do that. Thank you so much. I hope I'm not bothering you with all my questions. I'm just very curious. Thanks again.  S*pphir3 St*rdust (talk) 23:44, July 21, 2015 (UTC)

Can we talk on chat?[edit source]

Hello Icemandeaf. I need to talk to you on chat for a minute. This isn't just talking, but I want to tell something important. Sims Player (talk) (mistakes) 11:38, July 28, 2015 (UTC)

Progress[edit source]

Hello! I was just wondering how I've been doing in regards to editing. I know that I've been mainly adding links, but that is something I've seen needs to be done on this wiki and have taken it upon myself to try to help the wiki in this way. I was wanting to know your thoughts on how I've been doing, because I greatly value your opinion. Thank you and I hope you've been doing well. - S*pphir3 St*rdust (talk) 18:17, August 6, 2015 (UTC)

Name Change[edit source]

Hi! I hope you've been doing well. Long time, no talk. I just wanted you to know that I put in a request for a name change. I want it changed to Sapphire Moondust. I get tired of adding the asteriks and trying to remember my username everytime I log in. I wanted something simpler. Sapphire is my birthstone and I love astronomy, so that is why I chose Moondust. I just wanted to let you know before you saw a new name editing. Talk to you later! Sincerely, S*pphir3 St*rdust (talk) 21:05, August 22, 2015 (UTC)

Unblock request[edit source]

Hello Icemandeaf,

I want to request an unblock for Ilovemondler. This user got blocked because this account was used as a sock-puppet. You know? On TSW chat you told me that I had to contact you again when I have information. EPIC got hacked and then VSTF blocked her because of her "disruptive behavior". But this was another user which I'm not going to mention here. Now EPIC wants to use that account to continue editing on The Sims Wiki. EPIC is a good and friendly user and I see no way that she would ever do bad things. I hope you and the other administrators will considering this.

Regards, Sims Player (talk) (mistakes) 06:01, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

EPIC is globally blocked and VSTF won't listen to her unblock request. That's why she now uses Ilovemondler. You could ask C.Syde for more information because he unblocked that account on his Wiki. Sims Player (talk) (mistakes) 15:04, August 29, 2015 (UTC)
Hey, I noticed your response to Sims2Player's message above. I just thought I'd point out that the two users Sims2Player mentioned above are the same user. Apparently he said he was hoping that an administrator would consider allowing talk page access for this user.
I did in-fact allow the said user to edit on my wiki, mainly because a member of wikia staff convinced me to give them a chance, as they never intentionally did anything wrong. Also that member of wikia staff told me that continuing to block users from editing my wiki before they'd even joined, just because of their actions on other wikis, could risk unwanted provocation, which it almost did. There's a lot more information than what I've let on, but I feel I shouldn't say much else because it would mean mentioning another user, and this guide has gotten the better of me.C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:54, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Signature[edit source]

Hello! I hope you have been well. Long time no talk. I have a question about signatures. Sims2Player made me a beautiful signature and I'm having trouble getting it to work. I go onto source mode, copy it, and go into my preferences. Then I click that I want wikitext in my signature and save. Then I paste the signature into the box where it says signature and when I click to save it gives me the error "Invalid raw signature. Check HTML tags." I have no idea what is going wrong. Can you please help me? Here is the signature that Sims made for me - Sapphire Moondust (talk) Thank you for any help you can give me. I am so confused. - Sapphire Moondust (talk) 14:51, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

  • That worked perfectly! Thank you so much for helping me with that! Sapphire Moondust (talk) 15:23, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Progress or not?[edit source]

Hi! I have a question. I've been making minor edits for the wiki, and I feel like I've been doing my hardest to make the wiki better. Is there more that I can do? Are those edits worthless? I'm confused due to a comment that was made. I might have taken the comment the wrong way, but I just wanted to double check with you how I've been doing. I always love to hear your opinion on how my progress is doing. Thank you so much. - Sapphire Moondust (talk) 13:42, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you so much for you message. I have to admit, I was disheartened to read Nikel23's comment. I felt this way because I just became Featured Editor, and felt that I did a lot of hard work to get it. I never knew adding links was considered minor edits. I now know in the future, so I can mark them as such. I thought minor edits was like adding a period to a sentence or a small spelling fix. Also, how do I know what major things to edit? When I read an article, there seems to be nothing missing, everything is perfect. When I search to make an article, there already is one there. That is why I've only done linking and spelling fixes. I would appreciate any help you can give me. I'm confused. Thank you. - Sapphire Moondust (talk) 17:25, September 3, 2015 (UTC)
Funny thing is that I do use Source Editor to edit. I cannot stand Visual Editor to edit anymore. I have no idea why the wiki activity says that I'm using the Visual Editor. Perhaps it's because the page starts off with Visual, then I click Source Mode, and then when I click to apply changes, it goes back to Visual. That does help me to see if I've made any mistakes when I link. If red, no good. Otherwise, Visual Editor is too hard to use. Oh, I do use Visual when I sign my name too. Sapphire Moondust (talk) 17:53, September 3, 2015 (UTC)
Ok, looks like I was using the Visual Editor. Talk about Oops. I went into my preferences and Clicked Editing, and made Source Editor my primary. So now I can use only the Source Editor. Yay! Sorry for the confusion. I'm embarrassed now. Talk about silly. - Sapphire Moondust (talk) 18:07, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

This comment[edit source]

See this. Scroll a little bit down. There you can see what happened. Sims Player (talk) (mistakes) 15:56, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment. I know what he means. But I also made many pages and major edits. So I wasn't really pleased by his comment. Sims Player (talk) (mistakes) 16:15, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

What do you mean?[edit source]

I just got back from something and i haven't been on here for a few hours, I didn't make a bad edit. DarkSuicune2000 23:45, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

Family tree help[edit source]

I don't know how the Template:familytree works to well. I tried it on my Fanon:Mae Family page but it didn't come out right. Could you help me? DarkSuicune2000 04:14, September 13, 2015 (UTC)

Nomination for bureaucratship[edit source]

Hiding rollbacked edits from recent changes[edit source]

Hey Adam. I just wanted to give you a neat, handy tip when reverting a lot of edits by the same user via rollback. If the user has made many, many bad faith edits that all need to be reverted via rollback, you can hide both their edits and your rollbacks from recent changes by going to their user contributions page (e.g. Special:Contributions/K6ka) and adding ?bot=1 to the end of the URL. (for example, Special:Contributions/K6ka?bot=1). Go to that URL and then open the rollback links in a new tab. When you click on rollback, both their edit and your rollback will be marked as a bot edit, which hides them from recent changes unless the "Show bots" option is enabled (by default it's disabled). This is a great way for getting rid of mass-vandalism and the reversions needed to fix the damage. This trick only works for administrators (not rollbackers) and should only be used in cases of truly bad faith edits that unquestionably need reverting, and should only be used in cases where the user has made many edits and reverting them all would flood recent changes. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 20:35, October 11, 2015 (UTC)

Rollbacks do not appear in Special:WikiActivity, but they do in Special:RecentChanges. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 21:12, October 11, 2015 (UTC)

Request to Delete Duplicate Files[edit source]

Hello. I was wondering if you would mind deleting two images that were uploaded to the wiki twice. The files in question are here and here. Thank you! --Sumaes01 (talk) 22:37, February 23, 2016 (UTC)

I'm not Icemandeaf, but I've deleted the first of the two images. You will need to re-post the second link since I clicked it, and nothing showed up.
The second image has been deleted. All done! ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 22:43, February 23, 2016 (UTC)

Revert on Missy Grunt[edit source]

I noticed that you reverted an edit on Missy Grunt via rollback, without leaving an edit summary explaining why you made that revert. The edit in question was not obvious vandalism, and it is debatable; thus, the use of rollback in this situation was inappropriate. When in doubt, please use an edit summary. Thank you. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 22:55, March 11, 2016 (UTC)

You can rectify an accidental rollback of a good faith edit by leaving a dummy edit. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 23:03, March 11, 2016 (UTC)

Questions (probably stupid ones)[edit source]

First of all, I love this wiki and I am grateful to everybody for contributing to it.

Now, the stupid questions:

  • Is there a way to keep track only of the non-fanon material? I try to visualize the newest pics but every day I have to rifle through dozen of pages of fanon pictures just to find the actual games' material. I know that fanon is important but maybe there is a way to save some time.
  • This is almost embarassing to ask: since the wikia of "The Sims Medieval" seems abandoned, will it be merged with this one in the future? That game is pretty good, in my opinion it is a pity to leave it outside the main wiki.

Best regards

Re:Help with Hawkins Family page[edit source]

I would really appreciate your help with my page! What did you have in mind as far as any revisions that need to be made? —Preceding unsigned comment added by BenJen112 (talkcontribs) 17:09, August 2, 2016 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

Sure! You have my express permission. Do whatever you feel as though needs to be done! —Preceding unsigned comment added by BenJen112 (talkcontribs) 17:28, August 2, 2016 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

I appreciate the amount of help you're giving me! I was also curious as to how I add a picture of Peggy to the simbio template. Also, someone asked about the family tree. How would I go about adding one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by BenJen112 (talkcontribs) 18:09, August 2, 2016 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

In regards to your question, my issue with posting photos is I don't know how to make it so the Sim Bio panel contains my Sim's picture, like every other Sim Bio page on here. I hope that makes sense the way I explained it. Also, I figured out how to screenshot a picture of Peggy's family tree! —Preceding unsigned comment added by BenJen112 (talkcontribs) 18:18, August 2, 2016 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

The picture I was trying to put was the one where P. eggy is wearing a blue dress and is slightly aged. BenJen112 (talk) 18:28, August 2, 2016 (UTC)

I believe so. It's the one directly under the picture of Peggy sitting in a bar. BenJen112 (talk) 18:33, August 2, 2016 (UTC)

Changes and Formats[edit source]

Hello Icemandeaf I just joined the wiki as a member but have used it for years. I already made some contributions although minor ones such as ,corrected a link and changed links to the correct formats. Eg. Critics I changed to Critics#The_Sims_4.

Is there any advice you could give to a new member such as how to correctly edit posts or correcting links to the standerd formats ect. Also what can and can't I do in general.

Userboxes[edit source]

Thank you for the advice but I would also like to ask how to I use Userboxes? I want to add all the Sims games I own to my profile like yours. Also how do I reply without editing the last message or creating a new topic? I acciendly edited your messages trying to reply..

RE: Page Deletion Reason[edit source]

Not sure if you remember this, but since I saw your deletion reason here, I just thought I'd check anyway in-case you forgot. Only Administrators (and Content Moderators) have the option to move pages without leaving re-directs, so the user in question wouldn't have been able to move the page without leaving behind the re-direct. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:11, March 21, 2017 (UTC)

Calendar help[edit source]

On this page I used your Genesis calendar outline to make my own but there seems to be some extra white space on the calendar, and the days are pushed together and less wide than yours. How do I fix this? DarkSuicune2000 18:32, April 15, 2017 (UTC)

Video Games page edit[edit source]

I was just wondering if you could give me some feedback on my edits to the Video Games page. I added the City Living console games and added some explanations as well. TheGamerFoot (talk) 21:18, November 28, 2017 (UTC)
