Here's a very interesting question:

Should unregistered users be able to make contests?

You can be on either side. There's advantages and disadvantages to both.

No, they shouldn't, advantages and disadvantages Edit

Advantages Edit

  • No confusion about how to contact the user
  • You can easily contact them in case something's wrong with their contest

Disadvantages Edit

  • The community won't be as open to unregistered users
  • You'll have to make an account to make a contest, even if that's the only thing you plan on doing on the site

Yes, they should be able to, advantages and disadvantages Edit

Advantages Edit

  • Unregistered users won't have to become a member
  • Unregistered users are treated more equal to registered members

Disadvantages Edit

  • A user can make a contest, and you may have a question about it, and you might never get an answer
  • They could give email addresses or websites to go to, which could lead to spamming

New Contest Edit

If I ever create a new contest, how will people be notified? Will they know about it? Or will it remain dusty and full of spiderwebs until anyone would ever know it? Nikel Talk 10:16, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
