The Sims 3: In the Country was an "April Fools' Joke" about an expansion pack set to be released in November 2009 reported on a German gaming site about farm life.^[1]. Although it was a joke, it seems to have been based off of Riverview, the downloadable farm town.

The Sims 3: Spellbound is a rumoured expansion pack for The Sims 3.^[2] It looks like it takes elements from The Sims: Makin' Magic and The Sims 2: Apartment Life, the final expansion packs for The Sims and The Sims 2. On the front cover it shows a witch, a fairy, a superhero, a pirate, a fire-breathing dragon (which in The Sims series has never been a Life state) and a mermaid.
