Toaster oven

Toaster ovens are small appliances that can be used to cook simple meals in The Sims and The Sims 2, and any oven meal in The Sims 4: Dream Home Decorator. They can be found in buy mode under "Appliances -> Small appliances", and must be placed on counters or surfaces that function as counters.

The Sims

In The Sims, a toaster oven can make quick meals or steak and beans like any other stove. A household can have a toaster oven and a full-scale stove, but if this is done, the player will have no control over which one the Sims use.

• Due to the way objects work in The Sims, recolors of Maxis objects are separate objects. Therefore, recolors of the Maxis toaster oven may have prices and Hunger values that are different from the originals.

The Sims 2

In The Sims 2, a toaster oven can only prepare TV dinners, toaster pastries, grilled cheese sandwiches, pork chops, salmon, and fish dishes from The Sims 2: Seasons. However, the "MMM" Mini Fridge will not recognize a toaster oven as being able to prepare TV dinners. If a household has a toaster oven and a full scale stove, clicking on the toaster oven does not ensure that the Sim will use it, even if toaster pastries are being prepared. If FreeTime is installed, toaster ovens cannot be tinkered with.

Unlike in The Sims, Cooking skill points can be earned from using a toaster oven.

Note

If a mini fridge is on a lot, toaster ovens on that lot will be unclickable unless a regular fridge is bought after the mini fridge.

The Sims 4: Dream Home Decorator features two toaster ovens that can be placed anywhere a microwave oven would go. They can be used to cook any oven meal, as well as prepare baked goods if Get to Work is installed.
