The Tombstone of Life and Death, also referred to as Tombstone of L and D, is a cheat item that can only be acquired by using the boolProp testingCheatsEnabled cheat, shift-clicking on a Sim, selecting "Spawn", and selecting "Tombstone of L and D".

This is a VEEEEEEEERRRRYYYYYYYYY powerful cheat and should be used carefully. As with other cheats, this can also cause many problems and side-effects.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

This item can be used to kill Sims (by flies), speed up the aging process, make a Sim friendly with all present Sims, impregnate Sims with the genes of any Sim on the lot (including themselves), impregnate a Sim with an alien baby without abduction (this includes females), or spawn a random Sim of any life stage. It can also be used to add any neighbor or NPC to the family, including the Grim Reaper and Hula Zombies (only works after a Sim on Gold or Platinum aspiration dies of old age).

The Tombstone of Life and Death

The Tombstone of Life and Death is only available in The Sims 2.

Notes on 'Add Neighbor to Family'

Clicking on NPC: Remote Controlled Car when selecting the 'Add Neighbor to Family' option of the Tombstone does not work. The Remote Controlled Car is not a Sim or a car. Similarly, clicking 'Grim Reaper', 'Hula' (Hula Zombie), 'NPC: Bird' or 'NPC: Robot' also does not work. They appear as female Sims with long black hair and no face wearing a red long-sleeved top and white jeans and fill up space on your Sim's lot. They cannot be removed easily, but they look pretty scary in the family picture.

If you add the Therapist to your family using the Tombstone you won't be able to see him. He will be invisible unless the Sim you are playing is in the lowest zone on the bar, and you can't get rid of him.

Adding dead Sims

If you try to add a dead Sim to a lot via the Tombstone of L and D, a message will come up saying, "[Name] has died on another lot. [Name] will appear as a spirit in the place of [Name]'s death", and the Sim will disappear from the lot. However, if you pause the game, this gives you time to make the Sim selectable. Looking at the memories, you can see that a Sim does not add its own death to its memories. Additionally, accessing the Grim Reaper and Hula Zombies is similar to accessing dead Sims, as the Grim Reaper will look around before disappearing and the Hula Zombies will start dancing and disappear.

How-to . . .

Impregnate a Sim
Impregnate a Sim with the Grim Reaper
With the Sim selected, click the tombstone and select stimulate genetic merge...[name of father/or mother]
  1. Kill a Sim, preferably not the Sim who to have babies with the Grim Reaper. Cheats like Rodney's Death Creator can be used to and kill them properly.
  2. When the Grim Reaper appears, click on the Tombstone of L and D and select 'Get Pregnant By...' and select the Grim Reaper from the menu
Speed-up a pregnancy
With the Sim selected, click the tombstone and select "Speed up my pregnancy". Now it will just take less than 4 hours until the baby is born! In that period the belly will enlarge two times. At the third time, the baby will be born! The Sim must be pregnant before using the Tombstone, or else the speed up menu won't show up.
Recover Sim that disappeared when using testingcheatsenabled
Resurrect a dead Sim
Select 'Get Family Member' and click on the name of the missing Sim.
  1. Click on the Tombstone of Life and Death and click "Add Neighbor to Family".
  2. Click on name of Sim to resurrect.
  3. Quickly pause the game and make the Sim selectable before they disappear.
Once the Sim is selectable there are two options:
  1. Move the Sim out, or
  2. Kill the Sim and then resurrect them normally.

Tips

This can be very useful if you have Baby, Toddler, or Child Sims living in a single-parent home. Rather than hiring a Nanny, just spawn an Elder or an Adult from the Tombstone, and have them watch the child while the parent is at work. You can also have them cook and clean and do everyday domestic tasks. Do not add a Teen, because they possibly might run away and the Sims living in the house will cry every once and a while.

It also enables you to quickly make Sims fall in love with each other - using 'Make me friendly with all Sims here' and then making one Sim kiss the other causes them to move through Crush, Love and Best Friend status instantaneously. This feature is helpful when gathering friends for career promotion as well. Invite a load of people over, and make your Sim friendly with them all. They will now require only a small amount of interaction to make them friends.
